Slough is a town of around 122,000 people in Berks, UK postcode SL1. Its excellent rail and road transport links make Slough an attractive location for young professionals. It is well served by 3 junctions onto the M4 which in turn gives easy access to the M25 and central London.
With regular train services to London Paddington taking only 20 minutes, and fast mainline services to Reading and Bristol, it is an ideal base for commuters to the City and other employment hot spots.
Large scale investment is planned to upgrade the centre of Slough and the mainline station, and this is encouraging a great deal of interest from companies seeking to relocate outside London, as well as property investors with an eye for growth potential.
A key business location on the high growth M4 corridor
Slough is the gateway to London, located at a key point in the expanding M4 corridor. This makes Slough one of the most important business centres in the Thames Valley. Companies are being attracted by the ease of travel and proximity to London and Heathrow airport.
Companies which have offices along the M4 include Vodafone, Cisco, Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, and MCI - all contributing to the high technology focus of this “Silicon Valley”.
A convenient base for living near London
The desirability of Slough as a commuter location is causing great demand for new homes, and there are some exciting new property developments, including the Mosaic apartments, a selection of attractive, architect-designed flats in the very heart of the town centre.
