N7 area information
London N7 encompasses the area of Holloway in the London Borough of Islington.
Holloway Road runs through the area from north to south. The heavily congested High Street has been branded the most spied upon road in Britain. There are 102 cameras monitoring crime along the two mile road, mounted on shops and lampposts, a church and a courtroom.
One of the most striking buildings in Holloway is The Graduate Centre at London Metropolitan University. Its modernist design incorporating three intersecting blocks are a welcome contrast to the drabness of Holloway Road.
Perhaps one of the most well known buildings in the area is Holloway Prison located on Parkhurst Road. The all female prison has housed a variety of famous names since it was first built in 1852 from various suffragettes to Maxine Carr.
Holloway Road and Caledonian Road tube stations, both on zone 2 of the Victoria Line, are located in N7. Alternatively the Silverlink National Rail line runs along the southern postcode of the area stopping at Barnsbury Station.
