N2 area information
London N2 encompasses the area of East Finchley and part of Hampstead Garden Suburb.
Popular parts of East Finchley include the County Turnings, just off the High Road, and the roads around Fortis Green, in the direction of Muswell Hill, where there are a good selection of large Edwardian houses.
Hampstead Garden suburb spans two post codes, NW11 and N2, the former being home to the area’s original properties dating from the early 20th century. Properties on the N2 side tend to be smaller and more affordable. The area also contains the infamous Bishops Avenue, known as the home of rich businessmen, but now consisting mainly of a series of building sites and grotesque mansions.
East Finchley has its own cinema, the Phoenix, which shows an eclectic mix of Hollywood blockbusters and less well known independent films. There are a small selection of shops and other local amenities in the shopping parade of Market Place but the main shopping area is the High Road in East Finchley.
The postcode’s underground station is East Finchley on the Northern Line. It is located on the High Road in East Finchley with a journey time to Central London of around twenty minutes.
