N22 area information
London N22 encompasses the areas of Alexandra Park, Bowes Park and Wood Green. The postcode area spans the London Boroughs of Haringey and Enfield.
One of the most stunning buildings in the area is Alexandra Palace in Alexandra Park. The palace dates from 1875 having been rebuilt following the destruction of the original building by fire two years earlier. Current attractions on the site include an ice skating rink and a theatre.
One of the most architecturally interesting residential areas in N22 is The Noel Park housing estate. It has a population of about 5,670 residents in about 3,000 homes. The estate was originally developed as a private estate between 1881 and 1929 for the working classes but having fallen in to disrepair by the 1960s it was purchased by Haringey Council.
Wood Green is the only tube station in N22 and is part of the Piccadilly line with a journey time to Leicester Square of about fifteen minutes. The “First Capital Connect” National Rail Line runs through the area from north to south stopping at Bowes Park and Alexandra Palace en-route to Moorgate.
