Typical of the fine quality of models we sell is this longcase clock from around 1740.
It has a 12” arched brass dial with finely matted dial centre, ringed winding holes and subsidiary seconds dial with a fine quality blued steel hand. The date is in a large, unusual cut-out with engraving to the dial.
A very rare feature is an engraving of Noah’s ark with a dove automaton in the arch.
The silvered chapter ring has finely engraved fleur de lis half hour markers and is signed David Hatfield, Bosworth.
Supported by a good quality movement, striking the hours on a bell. The case is black ground, hand lacquered in gold, green, silver and red. The arched and caddy top hood with cast brass reeeded spires and side windows over a trunk with arched door and moulded edge, richly decorated with raised scenece of figures, birds and landscapes.
Like our other antique clocks, it is fully serviced and guaranteed for one year.
