Mahogany wheel barometer
This is an exceptionally fine and rare mahogany Wheel Barometer with a 6” dial. Dials of this size are very rare. The item is signed G.Rossi, Exchange St , Norwich and was recorded in Banfields as working in Norwich from 1822 to 1846.
The barometer has a swan neck pediment over silvered hygrometer, over original mercury thermometer, housed in a bow fronted and reeded case, with ogee ends.
The finely engraved and silvered 6” dial has a brass marker hand and blued steel pointer hand with moon end. There is an ivory adjuster knob over level gauge.
The square reeded base has a replaced ogee section. Generally this item is in good original condition with good colour and figuring to the veneer.
Like our other antique barometers, it is fully serviced and guaranteed for one year.
